There's a - Step *sigh*

Hello people of the interwebs! How are you all this fine day/evening? ...Good! I'm glad to hear that!

This story happens on my second day of university. Picture young me, trying to blend in with all the university folk, just trying to be 'cool'.

Ha! We all know me, so obviously that didn't work out too well.

Anyways, it was after my classes and me and my friend went to a building (which I had already been in that day of a lecture) to find a so-called mini cafeteria... We didn't find it. So, on our way out we were in deep conversation and God knows what and reach the doors. Now, I've made it so far. I haven't had anything bad happen. I've been good. Unnoticed. Life was good. But, the glasses gods couldn't have that. So, as we exit the building, the inevitable happens... I trip.

You see, the doors to the building open onto a little, itty bitty step. So, basically, door opens and you plunge to your death. So, picture me, in my cute little outfit, enjoying life, thinking I'm actually kinda cool, and I twist my ankle. Now, I mean I twisted it. Like, I saw the bottom of my foot, twisted it.

There was a collective gasp of the hundred or so kids that were outside on the campus that saw and my little "I'm OKAY. No need to panic" while turning beat red and my friend holding me for dear life so I didn't further hurt myself.

I'm not gonna lie, this time the pain overtook the embarrassment. It wasn't until after I went home that the wave of embarrassment hit me.

About three weeks later, my ankle STILL hurts, BUT the embarrassment has passed. To be honest, I've tripped about three more times since then, but I don't really mind anymore. People don't laugh in front of you here, they make sure that you're okay (and then probably go home and laugh, but I digress).

Well, I hope you enjoyed my story and are having a great school/work/life year so far!

Yogurt Incident

Hello peoples of the interwebs!

Long time no talk due to me starting university and actually doing work!

So, today's story literally just happened 10 minutes ago. I went down to our student centre and got some yogurt and granola because I felt like it. Anyways, I was 100% sure that the seal was on the yogurt part of the container and that the granola part was open. SO, I turned it upside down and proceeded to open it... only to have most of the yogurt pour out onto the table and my bag.

So, five thousand napkins later, the table and my bag are clean and I'm finally able to eat my yogurt. And I must say, it was worth all that trouble. It was delicious.

Hope you enjoyed! Here's to more regular posts!

Poems!

Hello people of the interwebs!!!

Sometimes, I write poems. Whether it be for comfort or out of sheer boredom, they flow freely from my mind. Now, the ones I've posted here are depressing... So, I apologize in advance. But whenever I'm dealing with something difficult, my creative juices flow better than usual!
Enjoy!

About Unrequited Love:

My Mind
Oh, hello there!
I didn't realise how much of an impact you'd have on my life.
I wake up, you're on my mind, I got to bed, you're on my mind!
Every inch of your being wraps my mind in wonder.
Oh, look how many times I've said the word 'mind'.
But that's just it, everything we have... is only in my mind.

True Love
Bruised and battered she picks herself up
She knew it would happen, but she didn’t care
After the encounter, she was like a lost pup
Alone in the darkness with no one there
She tries again to no avail
Knowing that it would never last
Really, it was bound from the start to fail
Hopefully she forgets it, and puts it in her past
The pain she feels drowns her spirit
The pain she feels rips her apart
No one knows the truth of it
That true love had killed her heart

An Assignment for School:
Smiling and Happy
Smiling and happy she goes on with her day
Smiling at friends as they pass her way
Reassuring and comforting friends
Inside she’s dealing with stress that never ends
Smiling and happy she strolls down the hall
Heading to classes her speed never falls
Sitting in class trying to listen
To a voice that seems very distant
Smiling and happy she leaves to go home
She gets in the car; her hands stroke her hair just like a comb
Smiling and happy her joy fades away
Her mind’s being filled with anxieties of the day
Her mood drops and her eyes water
She feels like a horrible sister and daughter
Smiling and happy she wakes up again
She repeats her day and hopes the cycle will end

Bad Times:

Despair
No one seems to care
 That I’m falling in despair
No one has the heart
 To catch my broken parts
 No one wants to speak
As it goes on for weeks
 No one hears me cry
 ‘Cause I’m afraid she’ll die
 No one sees me shake
 I’m always wide awake
 No one knows I fell
Deep, into this living hell
 I’m falling in despair
 No one seems to care

Dark
The sky is now dark
Black and cold and stark
My eyes begin to wander
My brain begins to ponder
The pain that’s in my heart
Set’s me worlds apart
From all those whom I love
I look up above
No comfort for me there
The world just doesn’t care
Sad and scared and stressed
There’s no time for rest
Encompassing my thoughts
The joy inside me rots
Reaching for a hand
Since I don’t want to land
If I hit the ground
My heart no longer pounds
Black and cold and stark
I’m left here in the dark

Sorry for all the depressing stuff! Here's a cute picture to make you happy!

Hermit = Sunburn

Hello people of the interwebs!

So yesterday was my cousin, Sara and her fiancé, Josh's wedding shower. It was a beautiful outdoor event. OH MY GOODNESS. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.

Anywho... I don't venture out much... and I'm part Irish so my skin is pretty darn white. So, being my hermit self, I haven't been in the sun at all. Cue beautiful day with beaming sun.I'm gallivanting away, playing games, mingling (kinda have to cause I'm a bridesmaid) and just enjoying the weather. 5 hours later, my group of people decide to head home.

After a long drive (we lived about 3 hours away... I do live in Canada... it's a vast land, guys) I arrive home to my parents (who were unable to go with me and my brother) and head to bed because I was exhausted.

I wake up this morning and DEAR MOTHER OF GOD. I am BURNT. Unfortunately I was wearing a tank top so while my shoulders, chest and neck got burnt, I have very noticeable strap and neck line marks on my shoulders and chest. Basically, I look ridiculous. BUT, I will not let this burn win! The wedding is in 3 weeks and I am going to tan and make sure I get an even tan so I don't look like a doorknob.

Anyways, hope all you guys are having a good summer so far! I know I am!

Peace out!

Ukulele!

Hello people of the interwebs!

I have recently taken up the amazing hobby of playing the ukulele! I have named her Effie because she's made of mahogany (if you have seen The Hunger Games movies you'll get where I'm coming from). And I must say... I fricking love it! It's so easy to play! As of now, I know three songs off by heart: Flume, by Bon Iver, Skinny Love, by Bon Iver, and All I Want, by Kodaline.

As of now, my summer consists of playing the ukulele on my deck and singing my little heart out... It's quite relaxing!

Here is a picture of Effie (not taken by me, I got this off of Google Images, but it's exactly what she looks like).

Isn't she beautiful?!

Anyways, just thought I'd give you a quick update as to what I'm doing as of late.

Hope you enjoyed!

Peace out!

Changing It Up?

Hello people of the interwebs!!!

So, I figured that since my GWTG experiences are lacking as of late, why not post other stuff to my blog? After all, it is about me!

So, I will do things a little different around here starting here on in!

This blog:

My two guilty pleasure bands that I'm in love with.

Celtic Thunder and Kodaline.

Now, I LOVE The Lumineers, Bon Iver, Mumford & Sons, and Of Monsters of Men. However, I am not romantically interested in their members.

So, here are the two bands!

First up we have Kodaline! From left to right, the members are: Vinny May, Jason Boland, Steve Garrigan, and Mark Prendergrast... I love them all!

Second up, is Celtic Thunder! From left to right, the members are: Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, Neil Byrne, George Donaldson (RIP George, you will be missed <3), Colm Keegan and Emmet Cahill. From this list.... I love Keith, Colm, and Emmet... Apparently I have a thing for Irish men since both bands are from Ireland. c:

Ayways.  I have met a few members from Celtic Thunder! Three to be exact! Keith, Neil, and Emmet. They are lovely people, so kind and genuine! And super attractive... c: If you want to read about those experiences, click HERE!!!! :D

As for Kodaline, well, I'm going to be seeing them this fall! SO EXCITED!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little blog and learned a little bit about me!

Peace out!
